Every day is different working in the Corporate Communications team at Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service – from planning campaigns that help save people’s lives to supporting colleagues dealing with serious incidents.
You’ll need to be able to think on your feet when dealing with emergency incidents, be confident and creative on social media and deliver regular and targeted media coverage. As well as a keen news sense and an ability to demonstrate discretion when handling sensitive information, you will be able to relate to people on all levels and manage multiple, challenging tasks at the same time in this dynamic role.
We are looking for a professional, resilient individual with great people skills, preferably with previous relevant experience and a demonstrable ability to work to high standards and tight deadlines. You will also be required to take part in an out-of-hours communications rota.
This is a challenging yet immensely rewarding position in a dedicated team and will involve close working with Merseyside Road Safety Partners. Hours: 35 hours per week (plus on call cover on a rota basis)
Fixed term contract for 12 months
Salary: Grade 7 (£23,398 - £24,964 per annum)
