Marine Rescue Unit Crew Member (Development)
Marine Rescue Unit
Operational Preparedness Directorate
Fixed term contract until 30th June 2018
Remuneration is the basic sum of £20,511 per annum (crew member in development) plus ‘sleeping-in’ allowances, detailed as below:
· Crew Members in development receive £34.68 per night shift worked.
· Crew Members will be paid an additional 1 hours pay at flat rate for each period of £9.37 'sleeping-in’ duty.
· Any continuous period of response activity up to 1 hour during the ‘sleeping-in’ period will attract 1 hours pay at flat rate. Any subsequent part of an hour will attract a full hours pay at flat rate.
Crew members are required to complete on average a total of 182.5 x 24 hours duty periods per annum, inclusive of annual leave and other approved abstractions.
Under the duty system each 24 hours period 0800 – 0800 will consist of two linked elements:
1 x 12 hour day element (core response period)
1 x 12 hour night ‘sleeping-in period’ (night element)
