 National Fire Cadets Executive Team

Contract: This is a full-time secondment of twelve months from appointment, which may be extended by a further 12 months with agreement with your Fire and Rescue service.

Please note, the successful candidate will be seconded into Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for administration purposes for the length of the secondment.

Hours: 35 hours per week

Site: Flexible with travel requirements

Salary: £33,136 - £37,107 per annum

The National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) provide Fire and Rescue services across the UK the opportunity for improvement and development.  The National Children and Young Persons Executive Team ensure the development and implementation of the NFCC CYP objectives.

The role involves being the main point of contact between the Children and Young Persons Senior Executive Officer, Fire & Rescue Services and other key national stakeholders. It will be your responsibility to develop and maintain strong links nationally across the sector, in order to promote engagement with Fire Service Early Intervention Programmes and initiatives, enabling Services to meet their strategic objectives whilst achieving the best outcomes for Children, Young People and their families.

You will need an understanding and experience of youth engagement, an appreciation of working with adult volunteers would be beneficial. You will also need to develop an extensive understanding and working knowledge of early interventions, along with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.

Meetings and events are held across the UK so there is a need to work flexibly as the role will include regular overnight and some weekend commitment, therefore a willingness to travel is also essential. These requirements will allow for a degree of flexibility as to where the role will be based in the UK as we are determined to appoint the right person for this important role.
