Deputy Head of Procurement – primarily based at Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service

Salary Grade 15 (£42,683 - £45,591 per annum)

Permanent contract, 35 hours per week

Location: Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service, Headquarters, Fulwood, Preston

Lancashire & Merseyside Fire & Rescue Authorities have a collaborative arrangement for Procurement services which enables effective and efficient shared procurement activity.

The post holder will work with the Head of Procurement (based at Merseyside) to develop and deliver collaborative procurement strategies on behalf of both Authorities. The post holder will ensure collaborative working across the Authorities, maintain and further develop operational processes and provide support to the Head of Procurement.

  This role will primarily be based at Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and responsibilities will include the requirement to provide high quality leadership to the small procurement and stores team based at that site as well as ensuring the effective delivery of procurement services to the organisation.

 The post holder will be a member of the Service Management Team and is expected to play a proactive, positive leadership role in the organisation.

 We are looking for a Procurement professional with relevant procurement experience at senior level of an organisation. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of public sector legislation, contract law and principals as well as the personal skills required to operate effectively at this level.
