Duty
Background
The National Resilience programme is an essential
part of Government’s arrangements to protect the national infrastructure in the
event of catastrophic incidents. Within the Fire and Rescue Service the
Government has invested over £200 million on vehicles, equipment, training and
procedures to provide the best possible response capability. This includes
equipment to deal with mass decontamination, urban search and rescue, flooding
and command and control. A network of Capability Officers, Capability Advisers
and National Strategic Advisers form part of the team to support the National
Resilience programme.
The Role
The role will appeal to a dynamic,
self-motivated and innovative individual willing to play an influential role in
providing effective National Resilience Capability assurance. The successful applicant will represent the
National Resilience Assurance Team at meetings, seminars and conferences and
provide operational cover on a rota basis in an Advisory capacity as detailed
in the National Co-ordination and Advisory Framework (NCAF).
The responsibilities will be as varied as they are
challenging. National Resilience is committed to appointing on merit, seeking

We would be looking for the successful candidate to
start their secondment on 2nd September 2019 or a date mutually
convenient close to this.
*Please
note, the successful candidate will be seconded into Merseyside Fire and Rescue
Service for administration purposes for the length of the secondment, you must
be employed in a UK Fire & Rescue Service to be able to apply*.
The
secondment is initially until 31st March 2022. Any further extension will
be dependent on Home Office funding.
