Merseyside Fire & Rescue Authority Protection
Department is introducing and developing
a Fire Engineering Department as outlined in Merseyside Fire and Rescue
Authority’s IRMP Supplement 2019 – 2021 IRMP 2019 -2021 Supplement.
We are looking for an experienced and talented individual
to work with us on this exciting proposal.
Currently MFRA’s responses to Planning Applications and
Building Regulations consultations are handled by our in house Planning and
Building Regulations Team, with our Partnership work under the Primary
Authority Scheme handled separately. We intend to bring these two work streams
together to pool expertise and increase efficiency.
The Built Environment changes rapidly in terms of
complexity and design. We are looking to provide Fire Engineering support to
Fire Safety Inspectors who increasingly deal with Fire Engineered Solutions in
premises as part of our Risk Based Inspection Programme.
The successful candidate will possess a fire engineering
degree / Level 5 Diploma in Fire Safety or equivalent. (We will also consider applications
from individuals who can demonstrate continuous professional development in
Fire Safety towards completing a Fire Engineering Degree).

Be part of the future with Merseyside Fire &
Rescue Authority. You will
work in a professional and dedicated team which encourages collaboration,
creative thinking and close team working. We offer a competitive package with
some great benefits which include generous flexible working arrangements,
access to free on-site gym, contributory pension, excellent Occupational Health
