Transport Manager - Engineering Centre

Salary £41,881 - £44,863

Hours:  35 hours per week

Location: Engineering Centre Vesty Road, Bootle

We are looking to recruit an experienced Transport Manager to manage our busy Engineering Centre. The role entails overall responsibility for all aspects of transport, and equipment, together with responsibility for the maintenance of the vehicle fleet, specialist appliances and marine craft.

The management of the Transport Workshops, including staff, budgets and all other associated resources are key responsibilities. In addition, the successful candidate will develop and implement an approved 5-year Transport Asset Management Plan, against the Government’s 2030 Green Plan.

Candidates must be fully qualified in the Transportation field and have substantial experience of working in a complex and fast paced transport management environment. Up to date knowledge of relevant transport legislation and and health and safety legislation is essential, together with the ability to lead teams of employees and manage budgets/procurement processes.   

Candidates must have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate with a wide range of employees, customers and other stakeholders. Excellent customer service skills are a crucial aspect of this role.

Please note due to the operational requirements of the role, there is an expectation that the post-holder will work flexibly to meet these requirements.
