An exciting opportunity has arisen at Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority
for an organised and motived individual to join the Service as an Exchequer
Services Assistant.
The permanent full time role supports the Finance Department in the Exchequer
Services Team where you will be preparing and processing invoices as well as
resolving disputes that arise from those invoices.
Main duties will include; Preparing order invoices/non-order invoices for
payment, preparing sales invoices for customers, issue reminders and make
referral to litigation as part of the credit control procedures. You will
liaise with customers and suppliers in relation to invoice payments due.
In addition, verifying invoices received from suppliers in respect of the
calculations contained within them, particularly in regard to VAT and CIT. You
will assist in the maintenance of the customer and supplier database as well as
filing and achieving invoice payment documentation.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with
the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide
range of people in a clear and accurate manner, good judgment and analytical
skills with regards to problem solving.
