Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are recruiting for Trainee Wholetime Firefighters to join their Recruit Course in September 2017.

The role of a Firefighter is to save and preserve endangered life by supporting and maintaining an emergency response service as well as assisting with the delivery of prevention activities to the most vulnerable people across Merseyside.

The role:

42 hours per week (48 hours over 8 days)

Trainee Salary: £22, 237 per annum

Upon successful completion of Recruit Training course and development within the role, salary will increase to £29, 638 per annum.

Physical Assessments: 10^th – 27^th March 2017

Assessment Centres: 1^st – 12^th April 2017 and 19^th – 27^th April 2017

Swimming Assessments: 8^th – 12^th May 2017

Interviews: 15^th – 19^th May 2017

Commencement date: September 2017

Please note, if you have not attained the required qualifications in the Person Specification, you will be asked to complete an on-line numeracy and literacy assessment before being invited to attend the Physical Assessments.

If you have the required qualifications, you must attach copies of your certificates when submitting your application.  Failure to do so will result in you being asked to complete the on-line numeracy and literacy assessments.
