Salary: £18,590 - £19,678 per annum

Hours: 21 hours per week (part time)

Contract: 12 month fixed term contract

Location: Service Headquarters

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service is a fast paced and dynamic organisation with high expectations.

The Investigation Quality Assurance Officer is an exciting new role working across the Health and Safety Team and Prevention Team. The post holder will quality assure investigations linked to operational incidents and carry out and support investigations linked to significant accidents/injuries in the workplace.  The remit will incorporate the production of reports and development and mentorship of staff.

 

The post holder will manage significant, non-fire related investigations to determine root cause and make recommendations to eliminate or minimise risk to people, property and the environment. In addition to planning and implementing inspections and investigations and respond to findings in order to determine solutions or make recommendations to eliminate or minimise risk to people, property and the environment.

 

The Investigation Quality Assurance Officer will attend court including Crown Court and HM Coroners Court as required providing evidence as to findings from investigations on behalf of MFRS. As well as quality assuring investigation reports produced by Incident Investigation Team Officers and mentor Officers to produce the standard of report required, both fire and non-fire related.

 

 

You will be educated to level 5 in Fire Investigation and have a proven track record of managing and leading multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment. Be experienced in investigating and producing reports for Litigation. As well as a proven ability to work within a highly pressured, risk centred environment whilst making effective decisions and delegating appropriately.
